Grandpa Jack

This world was a better place and I am a better person for having known this man, my grandpa.  Grandpa Jack was a man who never complained, worked hard, and was always there with his quiet presence.
He left a legacy.  At 85 years old, he was the proud father of 9 children, grandfather of 27 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.  A devoted husband to Dorothy for 63 years.  He loved his family and his Irish heritage.  We'll always miss his crooked smile and endless stories.

God called him home while we were in Iowa and we were blessed to be able to share in the celebration of his life with all of my family.  He's in our hearts always, we miss you lots Grandpa Jack.

For the small, but mighty Irish man:

One of my favorite pictures of Grandpa Jack, the day of his 80th birthday party.

The balloon launch at the cemetery, all the grandchildren let one go.  The this spring day felt like a cold and damp winter day, these balloons colored the sky with memories.
