A Tough See You Later

We weren't into saying good-byes when we left Washington.  There were too many people we hope we'll cross paths again with some day.  So it was see you later, because when you find special friends that's what it is.  Some how God will put you together again some day.  Sam was very excited to tell his friends he was moving to Virginia, but the reality of it didn't really sink in until we were moved.  Even with his excitement, his last day at preschool was hard.  Hugs were not something he wanted to share, mostly because that's when he understood it was the last "I'll see you later" before the moving trucks packed our final box.  Sam met some very sweet friends in Washington and I could not have asked for a better group of kids to be his first best friends.  He loved his preschool, and, of course his teacher, and talks about them all every day.  I'm so glad the thrill of a big semi coming to our house to load are things overshadowed the reality of saying "see you later" because moves are hard, but saying good bye is even more difficult.  Here are a few pics of Sam at school in his last few months there and a few with some of his best buds.

Sam is our lover of all things fireman and firetruck.  He imaginative and curious, but has a sweet and sensitive side.  Every day it's a different hat he wears, sometimes he even switches mid-day or occasionally mid-sentence.  Most frequently he is a fireman, but you may also find him at any given moment as a policeman, cowboy, pirate, Army guy, or trying his hardest to look just like his dad.  Here's a few pics of him over the last few months in Washington.

This picture was snapped by another mom.  She caught this boys humor for sure.

This pic too was captured by another mom at preschool.  Sam's favorite place to be was the dramatic play room.  Can you tell?  This boy lives in an imaginative world every day.

Sam's last field trip to Farrelli's Pizza, he wears this shirt proudly.

Sam wanted his good friend Brock to be in his photo with teacher Vicki.

This was taken by another mom at preschool at Halloween, but I just love what it captures.
Sam and his buddy Owen.  These two boys were cut from a similar cloth.  They LOVE fire trucks and anything with wheels.
A few pics from Sam's very late 4th birthday party, he had a little Valentine's day party with just a few friends.

I love those blue eyes and that sweet smile!
